Twenty-two public institutions providing social services in the municipality of Balti and Anenii Noi, Cahul, Calarasi, Causeni, Cimislia, Criuleni, Hincesti, Leova, Riscani and Soroca districts, will be transferred to the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, according to a decision approved today by the Government.

The institutions will be managed by territorial social assistance agencies, created in the context of the “Restart” social assistance reform, and the Ministry will have the status of their founder.

It should be recalled that the “Restart” reform was launched by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in March 2023, with the aim of ensuring fair and uniform access of the vulnerable population to quality social services. Last December, the creation of 10 territorial social assistance agencies will ensure the implementation of state policy in the field of social assistance and provide methodological support to the first-level local public administration authorities and public and private social service providers.
