Prosthetics and Orthopaedics Service will operate under a new framework regulation and minimum quality standards
The Prosthetics and Orthopaedics Service in the Republic of Moldova will operate under a new framework regulation and will be guided by minimum quality standards. A decision to this effect was approved today by the Government.
The document sets out the organisation, functioning and financing, purpose, objectives and principles of work of the service, eligibility criteria for beneficiaries, their rights and obligations. In addition, the decision defines minimum quality standards, which will ensure fair and uniform access to prosthetic and orthopaedic services for applicants and facilitate their assessment and accreditation.
The purpose of the Prosthetics and Orthopaedics Service is to provide support and assistance to beneficiaries in the process of registration and provision of technical aids and other services provided by the Republican Experimental Centre for Prosthetics, Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. Currently, the service is provided by 35 prosthetic physiotherapists from 35 territorial social assistance structures.
