Thus, in the case of natural gas, the state will compensate the tariff for the first 180 m3/month or the first 90 m3/month for households that have established the right to compensation in the form of a monthly monetary payment (APRA), to ensure the following guaranteed prices:
Energy vulnerability category | Price paid under the ceiling (2023-2024) |
Extreme | 12 lei/m3 * |
Very high | 12.2 lei/m3* |
High | 12.4 lei/m3 |

* Most of the beneficiaries included in the extreme and very high vulnerability category will benefit from compensation in the form of a monthly monetary payment of 800 MDL or also compensation in the form of a monthly monetary payment, and compensation in the bill capped at 90m3/month
Heat energy will be compensated up to a ceiling of 1.3 Gcal/month or up to a ceiling of 0.9 Gcal/month for households that have established the right to compensation in the form of a monthly monetary payment, in order to ensure the following guaranteed prices:

Alexei Buzu, Minister of Labour and Social Protection: “The way in which the vulnerability categories, volumes and compensated prices have been adjusted will ensure that support for low-income households is more targeted, as well as the fact that around 80% of households will pay a compensated energy price similar to last year.”
The assignment of the energy vulnerability category will be automatically made by the information system from 26 November this year, according to the criteria approved by the Government. Citizens will be able to view the assigned category in their personal cabinet in the first days of December. The energy vulnerability category will be determined on the basis of the ratio expressed as a % of expenditure on energy resources to the income available to pay for the energy source. There are 7 vulnerability categories for the cold season 2023-2024.
So far, about 635,000 applications have been submitted on the compensatii.gov.md platform. Citizens still have time to apply online until 25 November to receive compensation for November. Applications can be submitted after 25 November, but compensation will be granted from the following month.
People who do not have the technical equipment or skills needed for individual registration can contact their local social worker or librarians. In addition, specialists at the Unified Centres for the Provision of Public Services (CUPS) in rural localities across the country are ready to provide support in this regard.
